Born and bred in Manchester, Horace Lindezey has been making arts for over 30 years. He is a skilled illustrator, textile artist and ceramicist.
Much of his work depicts the world around him, his local area (Moss Side, Manchester) his family and influences from the media. His work is intricate and detailed and gives his audiences an alternative vision of contemporary urban life. In his work he draws on social and cultural references relating to his very personal experiences of being brought up in Hulme and Moss Side.
Horace Lindezey is an active member of the Venture Arts learning disability led steering group and a spokesperson for the organisation. Over the past two years he has also passed on his skills to young people in schools in co-facilitated arts workshops. OutsiderXchanges Project will give him new challenges, working with outside artists and enable him to make bigger work.
